This person will work on an as needed basis to fill in for vacant shifts. Shifts that could require coverage are as follows: 3:00pm – 11:00pm, Monday – Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday - Sunday Responsibilities will include the following: Perform diagnostic CT services to patient of all ages upon referral. Serves as a medical team member on assigned shift. Responsible for direct patient care. Coordinates with intra and inter disciplinary medical team members in total patient care activities. The technologist must be able to initiate emergency measures and notify physicians when necessary. Maintain inpatient and outpatient medical records in accordance with [IAW] AR 40-60. Performs procedures as ordered to assure that adequate safeguards are maintained and recognize changes in equipment. Recommends methods to prevent unsafe hazards. Properly label films, anatomical part and position of anatomical part in a plane when applicable, in accordance with Department’s Policy. Properly affixes the patient’s identification data on all appropriate films in accordance with Department’s Policy. Continually monitors patient’s conditions for potential medical or life threatening crisis. Maintain professional competency involving clinical skills and knowledge through participation in professional CT organizations, self-directed journal reading, and attendance at in-service and continuing medical education. Shall adhere to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) standards for Radiologic Technologist, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization and other applicable standards associated with providing Computerized Tomography care.
