Performs quality adult cardiac ultrasound including the use of color flow and cardiac Doppler. REQUIREMENTS Education: Required: Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) with emphasis and clinical rotation in Adult Echocardiography. Licenses/Certifications: Preferred: Possess a current “Active” ARDMS registration or ARDMS registry eligible or registered through ARDMS as Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) with one year echocardiography experience, or registered cardiac sonographers (RCS) registered through the Cardiovascular Credentialing institute with at least one year experience. Required: Basic life Support (BLS) certificate. Experience: Preferred: At least one year post graduate experience in adult echocardiography including stress echocardiography (exercise and pharmacological), transthoracic and transesophageal techniques. Prior experience with contrast enhanced echocardiography a plus. New graduates of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program will be considered, with letters of reference from clinical site instructors and interpreting physicians. Required: Basic Ultrasound Physics Instrumentation and Adult Cardiac Physics. Echocardiography imaging techniques and measurements, including knowledge of current accepted principles and practices, cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiogy. Echocardiographer should accurately perform resting, stress, and transespohageal studies as ordered. Perform clerical functions related to the position to maintain an efficient department including basic computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Determine priorities in workload and complete projects in an accurate and timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
