LEAD MRI TECHNOLOGISTDepartment: MRISchedule: Full TimeShift: DayJob Details:- Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Berwyn MRI and according to established policies and procedures, competently performs imaging on the main modality for the specific facility and maintains knowledge base in other facility modalities. - Assists the site manager with administrative duties and provides technical direction and staff supervision when applicable. Qualifications- Associate in Applied Science Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience. - Minimum of three years MRI Technologist experience, prior supervisory experience highly desirable.- Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). - ARRT Registry in main modality if applicable (i.e. CT, MRI)- Must possess current CPR Certification- Working knowledge applicable to MR scanning technology with specific references to cross-section anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to MR scanning- Ability to identify disease abnormalities and physiological processes while performing MR scans- Operating principles and practices in at least one specialty area (i.e. CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine)- Basic medical equipment operation (O2 tank, pulse oximeter, I.V.s)- Health care operations and safety requirements- Field service trouble shooting methods and procedures- Supervisory principles and leadership techniques- Proper body mechanics; budgeting practices- Plan, establish and evaluate the attainment of departmental goals and objectives- Operate telecommunications console and standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers and facsimile equipment- Train, supervise and evaluate the work of staff- Maintain supplies to budgeted levels- Delegate tasks and check work for completeness and accuracy- Thorough knowledge of patient care standards and requirements- Remain current and consistently implement JCAHO standards of practice into all aspects of patient care and job specific activities. - JCAHO Standards of Practice and FDA Regulations- Knowledge of quality assurance, customer service and OSHA principles and practices; and, state and federal health safety laws.
