Overview: Position performs clinical diagnostic nuclear medicine testing, including general studies, cardiac studies and the computer interactions associated with these studies. Responsible for utilizing appropriate techniques to ensure quality diagnostic images to be interpreted by radiologists. Assists authorized users in the application and management of diagnostic radionuclides, is involved in the procurement, preparation, quality control, calculation, identification, documentation, administration, disposal, storage and safe handling of radiopharmaceuticals. Under the general direction of the Center Manager, performs a variety of nuclear procedures, while utilizing radioactive pharmaceuticals, at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Performs procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in applying prescribed techniques for the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease processed in physician referred patients. Assumes responsibility for designated procedures; performs special assignments and projects. Works within the guidelines established by the corporate philosophy of the company. Responsibilities: Minimum Education: JRCERT accredited Nuclear Medicine program. Minimum Experience: 1 year Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Preferred Experience: One to two years hospital or outpatient nuclear medicine experience. Required Certifications/Licensure: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CNMT or R.T. (N) AZ MRTBE CNT. Required Course(s)/Training: CPR. Special Skills Must be able to work under deadlines. Must be able to utilize independent decision making skills in a wide variety of situations. Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities. Computer skills required. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
