Nuclear Med Tech RCA NUCLEAR MEDICINE PRN .01 std hrs/wk (PRN); variable schedule, as needed Variable POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the nuclear medicine Supervisor, performs a variety of technical procedures in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and therapy of disease Minimum Education: Formal completion AMA approved school of nuclear medicine technology - associate degree. Minimum Experience: Registry eligible for NMTCB or ARRT(N) and state license. Required Certification/Registration: Licensed by IEMA and Registered or Registry Eligible for NMTCB or ARRT(N) (Must be registered within six months of completion of an AMA approved program for Nuclear Medicine Technology). Description:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides health care services using radionuclides to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs nuclear medicine procedures and related techniques producing images for the interpretation by, and at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.Education:Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA), accredited nuclear medicine program or equivalent.Certifications:Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine,and the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.Experience/Abilities:Able to meet physical and sensory requirements of the job.Able to meet health standards for hospital employment.Must be highly motivated and committed to a quality of care that emphasizes the patient first.Current CPR/AHAMust be able to take (call) and be on site 30 minutes from point of contact.
