Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist Cc Crs Company: Location: Bethesda, MD Description: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the execution of the clinical research studies of the NIH Nuclear Medicine program and be an active participant in the implementation of new Nuclear Medicine imaging methods. The successful candidate will perform advanced computer-based diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures on Clinical Center patients.  These include data acquisition and processing using a wide variety of radio pharmaceuticals, image reconstruction and display, camera calibration, region of interest analysis, data transfer and archiving, and operation of ancillary nuclear medicine laboratory equipment. Procedures utilizing gamma cameras and PET/CT will be performed routinely utilizing a wide variety of radionuclides to study organ perfusion, function, and metabolism.  You will be part of a multi-disciplinary research effort and have frequent contact with physicians, physicists, radiochemistry and radiopharmacy staff.

Performs all procedures utilizing ionizing radiation safely and effectively, applying federal, state and institutional regulations. Requires courteous, tactful and efficient communication skills with internal and external contacts outside the work group in order to better manage potential conflicts in scheduling multi modality procedures, patient preparations and patient availability. Requires efficiency in running the changing patient workflow.
