Job Title: Nuclear Med Tech - PRN Company: Carondelet Health Location: Blue Springs, MO Description: Performs procedures in Nuclear Medicine.Assures procedure quality and safety of patients and personnel.This includes imaging, therapies, and all paperwork for the NRC, TJC, State Department of Health and their combined committees. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act) Orders doses needed for the day's work. Schedules and coordinates patients with multiple exams. Performs daily calibrations on all equipment. Prepares equipment for daily use according to procedures. Maintains NRC checks on equipment and personnel, daily and weekly, radiation surveys, floods, bar phantoms, dose calibrator.Records and maintains records. Correlates scans requested for the patient with exam orders written by the physician. Enters and edits exams. Verifies new or changed exam and obtains new order and insurance verification following appropriate process. Appropriately uses radiologic office technology to retrieve and transmit images and perform other workflow functions. Prepares and positions patients for injection and images as directed in the Nuclear Medicine Department Procedure Manual. Monitors all images to assure quality standards are adhered to. Maintains records of all doses and procedures. Assists radiologist with therapy consultations and administration of therapies. Enters and edits exams. Verifies new or changed exam and obtains new order and insurance verification following appropriate process. Appropriately uses radiologic office technology to retrieve and transmit images and perform other workflow functions. Ensures that the Radiologist receives images and associated paperwork on a timely basis.
