The function of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to provide technical diagnostic support. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist operates equipment used to capture and develop images for the purpose of medical diagnosis. The employee in this position promotes OHSU’s mission by delivering high quality, cost effective, family-oriented service. This position helps to create a collaborative environment by integrating education, research, and clinical leadership. Nuclear Medicine Technologists work with infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.Provides quality PET/CT, SPECT/CT, Diagnostic / Therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures and Diagnostic CT with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of equipment.Positions patients for PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine, and Diagnostic CT examinations with a high regard for their safety, care, and comfort.
Job Requirements
Must qualify to sit for the ARRT (CT) exam. Must have good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills. Must be ARRT (N) registered and/or NMTCB registered. In addition, must be ARRT (R), and/or ARRT (CT). Must be eligible to perform diagnostic CT examinations. Must have current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card.Preferred: 1 Year of previous hospital experience. CT experience preferred.Graduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine .
