Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations and assists with minor surgical procedures (cyst aspirations and biopsies) for subsequent evaluations and treatment by attending physicians. Ensures that ultrasound test is of acceptable quality and that equipment is functioning properly.

  • Board certification as a registered Ultrasonographer usually acquired through completion of a 2 year recognized AMA or AMA equivalent allied health program that is patient care related.

Assist the Echo Lab Director in developing quality assurance measures to ensure sonographers are achieving optimal use of equipment and therefore, optimal test performance.
