Forum Coffee House on Genesee Avenue is looking for a full-time baker to join our team.

Baker’s responsibility includes, but is not limited to:

  • Producing some of the most delicious pastries (this includes filling preps, making loaves, making and shaping brioches, making and shaping croissants, etc.)
  • Early morning bake of the day
  • Be able to roll, shape dough for a pro-longed period of time.
  • Lifting 50lb-ingredient bags (flour, sugar, etc.)
  • Keeping the baking area (oven, fridge, equipment, etc.) and kitchen area (sink, floor, racks, etc.) clean and organized
  • Being able to First in first out any food/ingredient items.
  • Checking for food spoilage and keeping cleanliness of food storage and containers.
  • Checking weekly inventory.
  • Staying up to date on our store and bakers’ group chat.
  • Making cold brew coffee/tea for our front of house
  • Prepping garnish for front of house

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Passionate about baking and excited to learn new things in general
  • Responsible, professional, and reliable
  • Be able to show up on time, especially for the morning bake shifts
  • Be able to communicate effectively with management and teammates about problems, concerns, and comments on any work-related issues.
  • Be able to lift 50lb bags
  • Be able to learn quickly and be flexible, always challenge yourself and improve your craft
  • Be able to work in tight/shared space and work well with your teammates
  • Be professional but know how to have fun with work (it’s very important)

We have 3 different types of shifts, each last roughly 6.5 hours including a 30-minute paid break:

  • 1st baker starts at 4:30am
  • 2nd baker start at 6:00am
  • Night baker starts at 1:00pm

Wage is shift-based/per shift. Each shift will be given a similar amount of tasks (that will take roughly 6 hours + 30 minutes break). You will be able to work at your own pace to a certain extent. The amount that each shift takes (6 hours) will be based on the average of everyone working.

  • 1st and 2nd baker: $140 per shift (plus tips ($40 or more guaranteed))
  • Night baker: $180 per shift (no tips)

Full-time bakers are also qualified for our company’s PTO, sick leave, health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, employee discount.

Applicant must be able to work 1st and 2nd baker shifts

Experiences with yeasted dough (brioche, croissant, etc,) are preferred.
