JOB DESCRIPTION

• Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have.
• Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure.
• Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients.
• Monitor and watch for any unusual reactions patients may have to drugs.
• Operate imaging equipment.
• Maintain detailed procedure records.
• Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Nuclear medical technological certification depending on state requirements
• Prioritize work assignments and adjust tasks as needed
• Ability to maintain confidential patient information
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and patients and gain their trust and respect
• Demonstrates flexibility to meet department needs as they vary
• Ability to work with minimum supervision within the guidelines set up by the department
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Able to communicate effectively in a caring and courteous manner
• Excellent analytical skills
• To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology .
• Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) recognized nuclear medicine technology program. Certification/registration in Nuclear Medicine (or eligibility) by either the: Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) ; The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• PRN Fridays preferred but open to other days.
• Compensation $65.00 per study with MINIMUM of 10 to 14 studies per day
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
