Positions Available:

               Weekdays:  (3) 40 hour positions -  Includes hospital overnight and weekend call rotation

GE and Siemens Scanners (for applicant reference, not an experience requirement)

                                                                           Four 10 hour shifts – Shifts range from 6:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.


              Weekends:  (1) 36 hour position –   No overnight and no call

GE scanners (for applicant reference, not an experience requirement)

                                                                           Three 12 hour shifts – Friday thru Sunday 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m


              Weekends:  (1) 40 hour position -    No overnight and no call

GE scanners (for applicant reference, not an experience requirement)

                                                                           Four 10 hour shifts 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday thru Monday

CORA is a growing radiology group of 34 physicians.  This progressive practice features state-of-the-art interventional, CT, MRI, PET, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and tomographic mammography equipment. Reading is within a PACS environment across the enterprise. The radiology practice serves eight hospitals and more than 20 clinics in the Central and Eastern Oregon communities.

Job Summary

Operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes. Assists radiologist with invasive procedures.  MRI technologists can work in various clinical environments, such as hospitals, diagnostic imaging centers MRI Mobile units covering Madras and Prineville, or doctors’ offices. 



This position requires regular reliable attendance.  This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, knowledge, and confidentiality.

  1. Performs MRI exams in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  2. Research of implant MRI safety
  3. Administers contrast media orally and intravenously.
  4. Performs venipunctures for the administration of I.V. contrast.
  5. Lifts and positions coils.
  6. Interacts with radiologists to ensure quality imaging and patient care.
  7. Communicates to all MRI technologists’ equipment issues, protocol changes, and procedure changes.
  8. Maintains documentation to ensure compliance with ACR and other registry bodies.
  9. Operates MRI imaging equipment.
  10. Assists radiologist performing imaging and invasive procedures. 
  11. Provides patient care and education instruction to patients. 
  12. Verifies patient’s record is up to date and accurate.  Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient’s medical record.
  13. Assists with other clinic needs, including laundry, scheduling, telephone inquiries and data entry.
  14. Must be flexible with work schedule as hours and/or location may vary.
  15. Required to maintain current state license through OBMI and ARRT.
  16. Must have the ability to work cohesively with others.
  17. Available to work Saturday at clinics as needed.
  18. Cover call at SCMC Redmond and SCMC Bend
  19. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

Required: Current AART, OBMI, MRI credentialed or the ability to obtain within 1 year.  Current CPR

Preferred:  2 years MRI Experience   


Typical Physical Demands

These typical physical demands are required with or without accommodations.

Requires full range of body motion.


Stationary position

  • Must be able to remain in a standing position for up to 95% of a workday. 
  • Sit to stand desks are available to all employees if the workstation has space to accommodate without obstruction to patients.


Move, Transport

  • Frequently moves patients, patients in wheelchairs, Gurney, Hoyer Lift, Gimme-A-Lift device, diagnostic devices, and patient care supplies of varying weight and occasionally moves paper/boxes of varying weight normally up to up to 50 pounds.


Move or Transverse

  • Constantly moves about the inside of the office/exam rooms for patient care and to access supplies and various diagnostic/ office machinery, etc.


Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position

  • Constantly operates diagnostic machines and/or other office productivity machinery, such as a compute, I-pad, copy machine, printer etc.


Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information, Monitor

  • Frequently communicate with physicians, patients and coworkers who have questions about exams, preparations, or other patient care needs. 
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Detect, Determine, Monitor, perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess

  • Must be able to visually see patient to position or assist and identify changes in patient’s wellbeing. 
  • Must have the ability to read orders or other communications on the patient’s and clinic’s behalf.

Exposure to work

  • Normally works indoors. 
  • Occasionally will take patients outdoors in the event we are using mobile scanners or transporting items to laboratories.
