MedStar Health is looking for a n Interventional Radiology Technologist t o join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center !

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

There are requirements to cover late and on-call shifts which would mean working from 10am-630pm as well as rotating call overnight and on weekends.

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist , you will assist the interventional radiologist in the performance of complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures. Provides patient care as needed and documents medical procedures. Assists in providing efficient and effective patient care.

Primary Duties:

  • Performs and/or assists in all angiographic and interventional imaging procedures as well as myelography, arthrography and venography. Prepares and positions patients and operates /monitors imaging devices during procedures. Utilizes immobilization devices and radiation protective measures during the operation of imaging equipment.

  • Evaluates radiographs for technical accuracy and quality. Assures that studies are properly identified and filed in patient film jackets. Completes required quality control and quality assurance records, and summarizes services rendered for statistical reports.

  • Verifies the procedure(s) performed as indicated by the physician on the superbill. Takes call on a rotating basis, for after-hours /weekend coverage.

  • Utilizes physical assessment skills, monitoring devices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenous care and aseptic techniques in providing patient care. Ensures that supply levels in the procedure rooms are adequate and notifies the individual responsible for ordering replenishment stock when appropriate .

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree.

  • One to three years formal training in an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology.

  • Less than 1 year, four to six months of job-related experience in the performance of angiography and other complex radiological examinations.

  • Must have passed American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination and be ARRT certified.

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
