Job Description
Join our team as a specialized Radiology Technologist - Dosimetrist , where you will calculate and design radiation treatment plans for patients with cancer and other serious diseases, collaborating closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists.
Key Responsibilities:- Calculate doses of radiation and design treatment plans that maximize tumor targeting while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue.
- Use advanced treatment planning software to contour tumors and adjacent organs based on CT and other diagnostic scans.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and therapists to ensure safe and accurate treatment delivery.
- Assist with quality assurance testing of treatment plans and equipment prior to patient treatment.
- Document and archive patient files, treatment plans, and assist with chart checks throughout the treatment process.
- Educate patients and families on the treatment process and provide support as needed.
- The role is based in hospitals, cancer centers, or physicians' offices, often working at a computer as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as knowledge of anatomy, physics, and mathematics.
