Job Description:

Ready to transform lives through education? The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) Rehabilitative Services Division is seeking a visionary leader with a knack for building strong partnerships to join our team as Education Program Manager. This role will shape vital learning initiatives within NDCS facilities by spearheading key educational programs, ensuring excellence and compliance, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Monitor program performance, including enrollment, attendance and retention.
  • Ensure programs meeting educational objective and regulatory requirements (e.g., applicable statutes, laws, regulars, policies and procedures).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; chair the Nebraska Consortium for Post-Secondary Education in Prison.
  • Collect, analyze and report on program data; utilize a data driven decision making process.
  • Prepare reports, professional correspondence, and presentations related to areas of oversight.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelors degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field, plus two years corrections experience; OR Associates degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, human services or related field plus four years experience; OR six years corrections experience.

Preferred Qualifications : Experience coordinating, managing, or evaluating an adult education or post-secondary program. Experience teaching or otherwise working with a diverse student population of adult learners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and educational management systems (e.g., LMS platforms, student information systems).

Other : Must submit to background security check. Valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical examination and a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services' Pre-service Training Program.
