Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Room patient, open note to include reason for visit and perform vitals ( is NOT able to review or update medication lists).

  • Assures patient safety and comfort through use of safe patient handling techniques, environmental maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other appropriate safety measures.

  • Assists with room preparation in between patient visits.

  • C ollects and processes b asic lab and test s ( i.e. EKG, glucometer, etc. )

  • Transports patients as necessary .

  • P erform office duties and tasks (registration, scheduling, referrals, copying, filing, retrieval of films/medical records, etc.)

  • Sets up, operates , and maintains selected pieces of equipment

  • Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas.

  • Participates in Performance Improvement projects.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

  • Completion of one of the following:

  • MercyOne Patient Care Tech training program.

  • A 75-hour/120-hour certified Nursing Assistant Program

  • A 136-hour certified EMT program.

  • An accredited Medical Assistant Program.

  • An accredited Radiography Technology Program (for limited radiography) and possess a State of Iowa Limited Radiographer Certification .

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population serve within three (3) months of hire.
