Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
  • Licensure:
    • ARDMS certification as RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) required or CCI certification as RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) required .
    • BLS certification (within 30 days of hire); ACLS certification (preferred within 6 months).
  • Experience: Prior experience in cardiovascular/peripheral vascular imaging preferred .
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in echocardiography (TTE, TEE), stress testing, vascular duplex scans (carotid, transcranial, aorta, renal).
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and patient interaction abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for independently performing professional-level assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate and records the results and clinical preliminary impressions as indicated.
  • The sonographer encounters difficult problems related to examination evaluations daily and must resolve them with limited supervision.
  • There is daily contact with professionals and families.
  • This position is a full-performance Cardiovascular Sonographer with advanced knowledge of cardiac and peripheral vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease.
  • The sonographer assists with transthoracic echo, transesophageal and stress testing; as well as peripheral non-invasive testing, carotid and transcranial duplex, aorta, and renal duplex scans.
