Our team strives to solve the observability challenges faced by Amazon Retail teams (as well as Devices and other teams), with tooling for builders to search and locate processes, aggregate and reconcile operations, pinpoint problematic components and triage errors, report and analyze operation metrics and trends, identify improvement opportunities, without the heavy reliance on log digging.

As an engineer on Amazon.coms site and app performance team, you will delight customers with experiences that are both swift and relevant for them. You will push the boundaries in terms of performance and change how millions of shoppers experience a feature rich page rendering faster than ever before on PCs, phones and tablets globally.

The ideal candidate for this has excellent problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, a customer-focused mindset, and a proven track record of on-time delivery. They are familiar with machine learning, service-oriented architectures, and distributed data and services.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
