What will you contribute?

We are seeking a motivated AI Engineer to join our AI Labs team, specializing in building agentic systems powered by generative AI models. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who are passionate about combining strong software engineering fundamentals with cutting-edge AI technology.

In this role, you will develop and enhance our internal AI platform while building enterprise-grade frameworks that streamline the development and deployment of agentic AI systems across our lines of business. You'll design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and autonomous agentic AI systems that can reason, plan, and execute complex tasks. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll create reusable components, tools, and infrastructure that enable rapid development of production-ready AI solutions across the organization.

Key responsibilities & deliverables:

• Build Agentic AI Systems: Develop autonomous agents that can plan, reason, and execute multi-step tasks using large language models and other generative AI technologies

• Software Engineering Excellence: Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following software engineering best practices, with a focus on building robust AI applications

• Production AI Applications: Design and implement production-grade AI systems including RAG applications, intelligent chatbots, automated workflows, and task-specific AI agents

• API Development & Integration: Build and maintain APIs for AI services, integrate with external systems, and ensure seamless deployment of AI capabilities

• Tool & Function Development: Create custom tools, plugins, and functions that extend the capabilities of AI agents and improve system performance

• Monitoring & Optimization: Implement logging, monitoring, and performance optimization for AI systems in production environments

• Innovation: Prototype and experiment with the latest AI topics such as MCP servers, A2A protocols, and more

• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical AI solutions

• Continuous Learning: Stay current with rapidly evolving AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices in the agentic AI space

Required skills & experience:

• 2-4 years of software engineering experience with strong programming fundamentals

• Python proficiency with experience in building applications, APIs, and working with modern Python frameworks

• AI/ML Interest & Experience: Demonstrated interest in AI/ML with hands-on experience building applications using LLMs

• Software Engineering Skills:

• Strong understanding of software design principles and clean code practices

• Experience with version control (Git), testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines

• Knowledge of API development using frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or similar

• System Integration: Experience integrating multiple systems, APIs, and services into cohesive applications

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and ability to break down complex problems into manageable components

• Learning Mindset: Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and adapting to the fast-paced AI landscape

• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with team members

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

• AI Framework Experience: Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Crew AI, or similar AI orchestration frameworks

• Cloud Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker)

• Database Experience: Knowledge of both traditional databases and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)

• Prompt Engineering: Understanding of prompt design, optimization, and AI model interaction patterns

• Full-Stack Development: Experience with web development frameworks and building user interfaces for AI applications

• Open Source Contributions: Contributions to AI/ML open source projects or personal AI projects on GitHub

• MLOps Awareness: Basic understanding of model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management

• AI-assisted Development: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub CoPilot, Windsurf, and other comparable AI tools.

Technical Skills:

Aside from Python and SQL, we do not require previous working experience with most of the other skills listed below.

AI/ML Frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, Crew AI, OpenAI SDK, Anthropic SDK, Hugging Face

Web Frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, Streamlit, Gradio

Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant)

Cloud & DevOps: Azure, AWS, Docker, Git, GitHub Actions

Development Tools: Cursor, VS Code, Jupyter, Postman, Linux/Unix command line

Monitoring: Application logging, basic observability tools
