Located on a beautifully landscaped 27-acre medical campus at 19339 Benns Grant Boulevard in Smithfield , the new hospital will provide modern facilities and comprehensive medical services to meet the growing needs of the community.

The 200,000-square-foot, three-story facility will offer a range of essential healthcare services including an Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Services, 38 Medical/Surgical beds, 12 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and 4 Operating Rooms. Overview
The Mammographer Quality Control Stereo Tech is responsible for performing mammography and stereotactic exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all mammography and stereotactic exams and QC procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.

What you will do
  • Completes mammographic imaging studies and presents them for diagnosis. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
  • Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.
  • Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
  • Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality. Detail oriented ability to multi-task organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Experience
  • Mammography experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography (M) Upon Hire(Required) and
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
Other Requirements
  • Weekend Shifts
  • Work/Float in more than one work location
