1- Clinical skills

  • Exhibits working knowledge of all MRI equipment and procedures.
  • Refers to physician's orders/chart for any special instructions that may be indicated.
  • Routinely questions the patient before procedure to obtain patient history.
  • Explains procedure completely to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety.
  • Performs all procedures in an efficient and timely manner without compromising quality or the mission statement.
  • Coordinates MRI schedule with other areas to prevent patient waiting.

2- Patient/General Safety

  • Corrects and reports accidents, incidents and safety hazards.
  • Uses PPE (personal protective equipment) when appropriate.
  • Is aware of potential chemical hazards and how to access MSDS information.
  • Uses good body mechanics when moving patients.
  • Adheres to infection control practices.

3- Equipment Maintenance

  • Reports all equipment problems to chief technologist and places service call through call center.

4- Documentation/Communication

  • Complete Exam Data Entry fields on all exams
  • Documents all pertinent information, i.e., patient history, tech initials,

5- Other duties as assigned.

  • Is available to work a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage of the MRI Department
  • Assist in other areas of the department as workload permits.
  • Keeps areas well stocked at all times.
  • Consistently performs 12 organizational Service Standards focused on Values, Service, and Quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • MRI courses required; Associate's Degree or graduate of a radiologic technology program preferred.Sufficient previous experience to have thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures preferred, along with knowledge in physiology and human anatomy and MRI experience.
  • Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age, limitations and planned procedures.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT (MR)(R).
  • Current BLS
