Performs radiographic and/or medical imaging and related procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Responsible for own practice within legal, ethical, and professional boundaries.
Maintains current license in compliance with all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations.
Maintains expertise in the area.
Successful completion of probation and annual skills/competency requirements.
Serves as a role model by demonstrating positive team based behaviors.

Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome.
Prepares and positions patient to best demonstrate area of interest, respecting the patient's ability and comfort.
Properly determines exposure techniques and factors.
Maximizes productivity and efficiency with national benchmarks.
Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination, explaining the need for breast compression during mammography.
Performs radiography of pathologic breast specimens.
Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.
Ensures all requested examinations are completed prior to releasing patient.
Maintains quality control and quality assurance in the assigned division.
Evaluates mammograms or other breast images for technical quality, assuring proper identification required documentation is recorded.
Performs daily required quality control activities and reports equipment malfunctions, as required.
Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available by a licensed practitioner.
Applies principals of radiation protection, when appropriate to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
Participates in quality assessment and improvement plan. May be responsible for specific quality control duties in assigned areas.
Communicates patient/family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
Provides patient education, including breast self-examination techniques.
Provides appropriate follow-up on mammography procedures as required by ACR and FDA guidelines.
Communicates variances and/or significant events to appropriate caregiver in a timely manner.
Communicates with members of other disciplines to assure efficient quality patient care.
Education:
Vocational/Technical Diploma
Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiographic program
