Provides compassionate age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatri cs. What You Will Do Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics. Performs MRI scans as directed by radiologist Patient care during visit to MRI Knowledge of MRI equipment and safety in MRI environment. Assures a safe and clean environment Maintains knowledge of technical skills Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment Demonstrates successful technical/patient skills by efficiently implementing special procedure technology in the MR area Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department Collaborates effectively and in a timely manner with co-workers and clinical staff Clear knowledge of modality specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR and RIS. Additional Responsibilities Uses a variety of equipment specific to the area, including MR scanners, power injectors, and various computers. Must demonstrate effective organizational, written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform procedures specific to area. Answers phones and arranges schedule for in-patient request Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and coworkers Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace . Qualifications Education Qualifications Associate's Degree Completion of an accredited 2 year program in a school of Radiologic, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine Technology (Required) or Other Accredited Program: Completion of an accredited program in a school of Sonography with current ARDMS certificate (Required) and High School Equivalent / GED (Required) Experience Qualifications MR scanning experience. (Preferred) Skills and Abilities Knowledge of sterile and surgical procedures. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of MRI equipment and safety in MRI environment. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of radiology information system. (Required proficiency) Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machine and emergency equipment. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Any of the following: Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT:R) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) or ARDMS - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Required Upon Hire) and Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR) (Required within 1 Year) or ARMRIT - American Registry of MRI Technologists (Required Upon Hire) Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) Physical Demands Standing - Frequently Walking - Frequently Sitting - Rarely Lifting - Frequently (up to 50 lbs) Carrying - Frequently (up to 50 lbs) Pushing - Frequently (up to 50 lbs) Pulling - Frequently (up to 50 lbs) Climbing - Occasionally (up to 50 lbs) Balancing - Occasionally Stooping - Frequently Kneeling - Frequently Crouching - Frequently Crawling - Occasionally Reaching - Frequently Handling - Frequently Grasping - Frequently Feeling - Constantly Talking - Constantly Hearing - Constantly Repetitive Motions - Constantly Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination - Constantly Additional Salary Detail: The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of posting of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
