Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography or registry-eligible (required). Current Louisiana State Radiographer license (required). Preferred: 1-2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field. Strong knowledge of mammography imaging techniques, radiation safety, and quality standards. Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients. Employee perks: What You Will Do: You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and maintaining high standards for image quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in accordance with established protocols. Position and instruct patients to obtain optimal images while ensuring safety and comfort. Operate mammography and radiographic equipment accurately and safely. Produce high-quality images and evaluate technical quality prior to submission. Corroborate clinical history with ordered procedures to ensure proper exams. Explain procedures to patients and reduce anxiety through clear communication. Apply radiation safety principles to minimize risk to patients and staff. Perform daily quality control testing and maintain required documentation. Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, FDA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies. Prepare and distribute mammography result letters per protocol. Follow up with patients requiring additional views or ultrasound. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and imaging staff. Supervise and train radiologic technology students as appropriate. Maintain licensure, certifications, and CPR/BLS requirements. Participate in department meetings, performance improvement initiatives, and required education. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
