The Ultrasound Tech provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. Job Responsibilities: -Maintains American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions. -Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. -Perform exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy. -Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. -Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment. -Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns. -Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques. -Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images. -Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions. -Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures. -Follows protocols. -Operates equipment. -Perform patient identification. -Maintains documentation. -Provides customer service. -Completes management reporting. -Performs vascular procedures. -Maintains cleaning standards. -Applies imaging techniques. -Demonstrates anatomical knowledge. -Prioritize tasks effectively. -Demonstrates effective communication. -Works independently. -Works collaboratively in a team. -Responds to emergency situations. -Evaluates images. null Skills: Required Skills & Experience: -One (1) or more years of experience. -Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. -Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. -Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. -Ability to use computers and perform typing for documentation and accessing information. -Ability to lift, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items. -Ability to walk and assist with transporting or ambulating patients. -Ability to push and pull equipment such as gurneys and portable devices. -Ability to navigate crowded and busy environments. -Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
