The Mammography Technologist works under the supervision of leadership. The mammography technologist works in direct patient care performing screening and diagnostic mammograms. Works under the direction of the Radiologist during breast biopsies, needle localizations and other interventional procedures related to the breast The Mammography Technologist reviews and evaluate images for quality diagnostic purposes. Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients.

Skills and Abilities Essential Technical/Motor Skills * Calibrating equipment, answering telephone, fine motor skills, inputting data. * Speaking clearly. Knowledge of body mechanics and BLS. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Interpersonal Skills * Effective communication skills and ability to interact with patients, staff, visitors, and physicians, etc. * Must work well as a team member. Essential Physical Requirements * Walking, pushing, pulling, lifting 50 lbs, restraining, kneeling, standing, moving equipment and speaking. Essential Mental Abilities * Manipulate numbers, interpret data, explain, evaluate, adaptability, reading, and organizational skills. Essential Sensory Requirements * Visual skills, hear, speaking. Exposure to Hazards * Radiation, body fluids, needle puncture, hazardous material.
