The Ultrasound\Vascular Lab Tech (R) works under the supervision of the Director, Associate Director, Manager, and Lead Technologist to provide the technical knowledge and expertise to safely and accurately perform sonograms in abdominal, OB/GYN, breast, and vascular specialties. In addition, technologists assists the radiologists in performing invasive procedures, accurately charting, and consenting patients for procedures. Is responsible for taking ultrasound call as necessary to ensure 24 hour / 7 days ultrasound services. Schedules specific times for exams, considering priority.

Skills and Abilities Essential Technical/Motor Skills * Inputting data, calibrating equipment, answering telephone, speaking clearly, manipulating small items, fine motor skills, knowledge of body mechanics and CPR. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Interpersonal Skills * Effective communication skills and ability to interact with patients, staff, visitors, physicians, etc. * Must work well as a team member. Essential Physical Requirements * Walking, pushing, pulling, lifting 35 lbs., and restraining, moving equipment, standing, kneeling. Essential Mental Abilities * Interpret data, manipulate numbers, calculate, explain, adaptability. Essential Sensory Requirements * Visual skills, hear, distinguish color. Exposure to Hazards * Radiation, body fluids, needle sticks, hazardous materials. Other Skills and Abilities * Caregiver must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age group(s): Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal. >
