Reporting to an Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Supervisor with medical oversight from Radiology leadership, the Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist collaborates daily with friendly nurses, cardiologists, radiologists, pharmacists, and a diverse allied health team; responsibilities for a PET Technologist include radiopharmaceutical preparation and dose calibration, image acquisition and post-processing for PET/CT, SPECT, and nuclear cardiology stress testing, radiation safety and ALARA compliance, scanner QA/QC, protocol optimization, and seamless documentation across PACS/EHR, all supported by clinical educators, medical physicists, and readily available specialty consults to help a Nuclear Cardiology Technologist grow quickly and confidently.
