Back Radiographer - PRN - Edmond OU Health Oklahoma City, OK, USA May 28, 2026 Part Time Medical Imaging Job Description Position Title: Radiographer - PRN - Edmond Department: Adult Diagnostic X-Ray Job Description: Ask your recruiter about our new market leading rates! **PRN POSITIONS REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 2 SHIFTS A MONTH** General Description: The Radiographer PRN under general supervision, performs routine Diagnostic X-Ray examinations using fixed and/or portable equipment in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines and quality standards. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities, with or without an accommodation, may result in disqualification from the position. Under general supervision, performs diagnostic imaging on patients as ordered by a care provider in routine or emergent conditions. Ensures testing is performed safely and with the highest quality standards, maintaining a consistent focus on patientcentric care. Assists with basic fluoroscopic procedures when required. Prepares patients for procedures and reviews clinical history to align with provider-ordered tests. Safely administers contrast per protocol and identifies, manages, and escalates contrast reactions and changes in patient condition. Responds to inquiries from patients and family members, provides clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines. Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care. Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed, documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards. Accurately documents in EMR/PACS per organizational policies and procedures. Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician. Performs quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines. Ensures that technical quality of testing meets established protocols and applicable accreditation standards. Assists with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as requested. May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program. May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members. Assists with onboarding of new team members. May provide on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as assigned. General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited imaging/radiology program as defined by ARRT. Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements. Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Radiographer required. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ARRT(RT) Certification required at hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; radiologic technologies and terminology associated with Diagnostic X-Ray. Ability and skill to apply core-level primary specialty theory, practices and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze and annotate study data or procedure documentation with general supervision or assistance. Knowledge of imaging and Diagnostic X-Ray policies, procedures, techniques, and processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards. Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others. Displays consistency and dependability by reporting to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.
