Breast Sonographer - M - F - Days (0800-1600)

The Sonographer performs sonography procedures a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail and performs a variety of technical procedures th will require independent judgment with ingenuity to apply prescribed sonography for diagnosis. The Sonographer assumes responsibility for designed areas of procedures and may have individual responsibility for specified sonography procedures and/or may be assigned as an instructor.

• Verifies physicians orders in pients chart, prescription and on schedule
• Explains the test to the pient. Instructs and assists the pient in assuming the physical position for examinion
• Able to assess pient pain interfering with imaging procedure
• Performs all aspects of pient care in an environment th optimizes pient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
• Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined, the depth of field and other specificions of test
• Enters test da and pient informion into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results
• Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed
• Schedules pients to provide orderly flow of procedures through department
• Perform other duties as required.
  

REQUIRED:

• High School degree

PREFERRED:

• 2-3 years relevant job experience in a Healthcare setting under a Board Certified Radiologist

REQUIRED:

• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certificion
• BCLS certificion
