Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray and CT scans, in compliance with established protocols and safety standards. Adjust imaging equipment and position patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Assist physicians and radiologists by providing accurate and timely imaging services essential for diagnosis and treatment. Work within certification scope with minimal supervision, maintaining patient safety and comfort. Apply radiation safety and protection procedures for patients, staff, and yourself. Evaluate the technical quality of images, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal diagnostic utility. Support emergency department operations by providing imaging services for approximately 8 patients per 24-hour period, supporting routine and emergency imaging needs. Collaborate closely with the Radiology Manager regarding scheduling, on-call duties, and workflow. Required Skills: Active Radiologic Technologist license in Iowa or state of practice. Proven CT imaging experience in a clinical setting. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Strong knowledge of radiologic procedures, safety protocols, and patient care. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in emergency settings. Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience working in emergency departments or urgent care environments. Knowledge of radiation safety and protection procedures. Experience with digital imaging systems and electronic medical records. Ability to operate various imaging equipment, including CT scanners. Preferred Education and Experience: Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent). Previous clinical experience in emergency, trauma, or similar fast-paced environments. CT certification or additional specialized training is highly valued. Other Requirements: Availability to work an evening shift (3:00 PM-10:00 PM) on scheduled days, with additional on-call responsibilities. On-call availability 2-3 nights per week, including weekends and overnight shifts (10:00 PM-7:00 AM); Friday on-call from 10:00 PM-8:00 AM, with every other weekend on-call. Traveler responsible for housing arrangements; local accommodations options include hotels and campgrounds nearby. Physical ability to lift and position patients, stand for extended periods, and perform imaging procedures in various settings.
