OR/Radiology Technologist III
RADIOLOGY-DIAGNOSTIC (Billings Clinic Main Campus)

Shift: Day, Evenings, Nights, Weekends
Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)
Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $29.08 - 36.34

Under general supervision, operates radiographic equipmentto obtain ordered radiographs consistent with department routines and procedures. In doing so,positions patients, adjusts equipment for proper exposure settings anddevelops films/images following theprocedure and facilitates image storage in the PACS system. Also assists physiciansand Radiology RPAs in performingexaminations by administering/providing contrast media and assisting withprocedures as needed.

This position may be eligible for a $7500.00 sign on incentive, relocation, and tuition loan repayment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

General Duties
Ensures radiological services provided are in compliancewith standards established by Billings Clinic, local, state and federalagencies.
Performs quality procedures and radiographs using theappropriate department routine as ordered and be able to perform thoseexaminations using all the general radiographic equipment.
Prepares the room, equipment and supplies as dictated bythe particular examination or patient need and processes the necessaryradiographs.
Prepares the patient for the examination by ensuring thepatient is attired properly, explains the examination to the patient andtransfers and positions the patient as needed. Demonstrates awareness ofradiation safety for patients, self and co-workers in particular by usingappropriate shielding for patients. Assists the patient at the end of theexamination.
Informs Manager or Supervisor of any unusual concerns,situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians. Assistswith stocking and cleaning their assigned room daily. Maintains adequateinventory of all required supplies by appropriately utilizing supply managementsoftware/hardware and/or informing appropriate personnel for acquisition.
Performs a variety of clerical and image managementtasks, as required, such as working up patients, completing the appropriatepaper work following each examination, properly identifies exams for PACSstorage and review.
Identifies need and sets goals for own growth anddevelopment; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
Responsible for taking an active role in the mentoringof the student technologist staff.
Supports and models behaviors consistent with BillingsClinics mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and serviceexpectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agencystandards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or jobperformance.
Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meetthe needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of a recognized approved American MedicalAssociation Council of Education program in Radiological Technology.

Certification and Licensure
Certification by the American Registry of RadiologicalTechnologists (ARRT) OR board eligible (must achieve ARRT credential within sixmonths of employment)
Current Montana license as a RadiologyTechnologist/Regional RT must possess additional current state license asappropriate to service site.

Other Minimum Qualifications
ARRT Certification.
Possess MT/WY Radiology license as applicable.
Must display competency and successfully meeting job performance expectations in all Level I and Level 2 Technologists functions.
Competency in setting up and using C-arms and O-arms in OR setting to assist with image guidance for surgical cases.
Ability and routinely involved in OR setting utilizing C-arms, O-arms, and Mobile x-ray equipment for the interoperative need.
On-call requirement to provide OR setting imaging needs to support Level I Trauma and Ortho Trauma surgeries.
No active disciplinary processes or attendance issues.
