Key Qualifications and Certifications:
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, to be obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Radiologic Technologist credential from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) required before start date.
- In addition, at least one of the following required:
- Nuclear Medical Technologist certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), including CT specialty, or
- ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography, or
- ARRT certification in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy.
- Demonstrated experience in imaging/CT, with proven proficiency in patient positioning, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform computerized tomographic procedures according to radiologist-established protocols.
- Prepare and position patients, selecting appropriate anatomic and technical parameters for imaging studies.
- Administer contrast media and medications following scope of practice and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor patients during procedures, promptly recognizing and reporting any abnormal activity.
- Evaluate and suggest updates to imaging protocols for continuous improvement.
- Consistently adhere to radiation safety procedures, promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.
