Schedule:
- Contract-based assignment with standard imaging department hours (details to be provided during interview).
Essential Qualifications:
- BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Radiologic Technologist credential from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire or transfer.
- At least one of the following certifications:
- Nuclear Medical Tech credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Computed Tomography
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty certifications
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in CT from the ARRT
- Demonstrated skill in computerized tomography technology and procedures.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and high-quality CT scans per protocol for the diagnosis of disease and injury.
- Correctly prepare and position patients, selecting optimal technical parameters for each study.
- Administer contrast media and approved medications within scope of practice and federal/state regulations.
- Maintain vigilant observation of patients during imaging, promptly reporting any abnormal activity.
- Recommend updates or refinements to imaging protocols as needed.
- Safeguard patient and staff safety by rigorously applying radiation safety procedures.
