Job Summary and Qualificions

The Nuclear Medicine (NM) Technologist performs general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. The NM tech also receives, calibres, logs, administers and monitors the decay of radioactive isotopes following approprie policies, procedures and radiion safety practices.

Wh you will do in this role:

  • You will perform and maintain all accreditions for the hot lab.
  • You will cree a department on-call schedule for staff.
  • You will supervise the nuclear technologists and is the primary point of contact for resolving questions and issues.
  • You will perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
  • You will receive, calibre, log, administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes
  • You will provide radiion safety support in the event of a radiion incident/spill
  • You will maintain accure, detailed reports and records.
  • You will record pients' medical informion
  • You will coordine pient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
  • You will inform the pient about the procedure and answer questions.
  • You will interact and professionally communice with co-workers, physicians, pients, and family members.
  • You will maintain all licenses, certificions, and accreditions required as outlined in Job Qualificions
  • You will adhere to the facility ICARE values
  • You will prepare pients for and assist with examinions or trements.
  • You will prepare educion the pient on discharge instructions
  • You will demonstre the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
  • You will be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive merials.
  • You will demonstre knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of trement, and care of pients approprie to the ages of pients served.
  • You will properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulory guidelines.

Wh qualificions you will need:

  • Graduion from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
  • Current registry by CNMT or ARRT (N) is required.
  • BLS required
  • PET CT experience preferred

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chtanooga. We feure comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer trement. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilition. The facility includes a ste of the art neurosurgery program. Pients also have access to OB-GYN services. Pients have access to a level III Neonal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health trement centers for children and adults.
