Job Summary
Oversees day-to-day floor operations within the modality, monitors quality and coordinates education opportunities during these operations. Monitors customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction results, looking for trends and identifying opportunities for improvement. Assigns and monitors the work of MRI technologists to optimize quality and efficiency. Assists manager with payroll duties as assigned. May lead special projects assigned by leadership.
Essential Functions
Plans and organizes MRI and related services on assigned shift to assure that all examinations are expeditiously processed and meet all standards of quality and safety.
Assumes all charge responsibilities in the absence of the upline. Assumes lead responsibilities for daily quality control, enforcement of radiology policies, and adherence to all procedure policies. Initiates finding coverage for unexpected employee absences when upline is absent.
Obtains and verifies patients clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner. Prepares and administers contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment and accessories as directed. Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters assuring proper identification is evident.
Assists with performing quality studies on new and / or difficult exams so that they meet the requirements of established protocols.
Supports objectives set by imaging specialist and leadership. Assists in the scheduling of trials and applications by vendors in collaboration with their imaging specialist and leadership. Assists imaging specialist and leadership with credentialing and competencies set forth by Corewell Health and various regulatory agencies.
Provides the Supervisor/Manager input regarding employee performance. May be asked to participate in the interview process of new applicants.
Qualifications
Required
Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in health care or related field
Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in health care or related field
5 years of relevant experience as a MRI Technologist Required
CRT-Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) - ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required Or
CRT-American Registry Of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (MRI) - ARMRIT American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
