Job Description
The physicians of Valley Radiology Consultants have been serving the North San Diego County area since 1971, providing our patients with an advanced array of diagnostic imaging and pain management services in our outpatient centers in Poway and Escondido. Our group of physicians is accompanied by a dedicated support staff of technologists, administrative staff and management. We would like for you to join our team as a Full Time Ultrasound Technologist working in both our Poway and Escondido clinics.
In this position, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic medical sonograms including OB/Gynecology and other studies using complex ultrasound equipment and transducers. Your work is vital in helping Valley Radiology Consultants achieve our mission of providing excellence in diagnostic imaging services focused on uncompromised patient care, referring physician satisfaction and commitment to the patients and community we serve.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing ultrasound procedures under minimal supervision, including producing, assessing and evaluating images and data for Radiologist review and diagnosis
- Providing an exceptional patient experience in all situations
- Working within the safety standards and regulatory requirements and participating in quality control (QC) and continuing medical education (CME).
- Calibrating and operating ultrasound equipment
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Licensure:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or RDMS eligible
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of diagnostic ultrasound
- CPR Certification (American Heart Association - Healthcare Provider)
- Current RVT a plus
Specific Skills Desired:
2 Years or more working experience in a busy imagining center scanning the following:
Small Body Parts (Breast, Thyroid)
Pelvis
Vascular
Abdominal
OBGYN
Experience with venous insufficiency studies preferred
Baby Hips a plus
- Experience working in a high-volume imaging center while providing exceptional patient focused care
- BLS
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team and maintain strict confidentiality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
