Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at our facility you will be joining a collaborative team that is dedicated to serving our patients and also supporting one another. This position requires comprehensive understanding of related technology, independent judgment, and complete knowledge of all Federal and Utah Regulatory Commission rules and regulations. In this role you will:
- Perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in humans.
- Be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served: i.e. Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
- Assist physicians in the use of therapeutic radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions and preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic purposes.
- Check assay of radionuclides received and calibrate doses to be given. Also check equipment calibration daily.
- Maintain adequate records of equipment calibration and repairs, radiation surveys of laboratory and personnel, radionuclide receipt and use, storage and disposal of radioactive material in accordance with Hospital, State and Federal regulations.
- Keep abreast of new procedures, equipment and methods, and participate in their evaluation and application.
- Participate in in-service training programs as required and instruct the demonstration of specific techniques and equipment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (ARRT-R) Radiography
- (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
- Associate Degree
- Graduation from a certified AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine. Meet the State Licensure continuing education requirements as well as the in-service attendance requirements of the Department.
- 1-2 years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred.
- Current Utah State Radiologic Technologist Licensure.
