CT Technician Jobs

A CT (Computed Tomography) Technician, also known as a CT Tech, plays a crucial role in the radiology field. Their main responsibility includes operating CT scanners to capture diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues. These images are highly valuable as they assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illnesses. Additionally, CT Technicians also play a significant part in patient care, which includes explaining procedures, positioning patients on the examining table, and monitoring patients during the scan. They are also tasked with maintaining the equipment and ensuring the proper protocols are followed to secure the well-being of patients.

To become a CT Technician, one must have excellent technical and patient care skills. They must be detail-oriented and have a comprehensive understanding of anatomy, physiology, and radiology principles. A CT Technician typically requires an associate's degree in radiologic technology or related field, and a certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Prior to becoming a CT Technician, individuals may have roles such as Radiologic Technologist, MRI Technician, or X-Ray Technician. These roles provide the necessary experience and understanding of radiology procedures and patient care, which are crucial for a career as a CT Technician.
