Director of Imaging Jobs in Washington

A Director of Imaging in the radiology field is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of a diagnostic imaging department. This includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures, budgeting, staff management, and coordination of imaging services. The director ensures adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance. They may also coordinate with medical staff to improve patient care and imaging procedures. Important skills for this role would include leadership, communication, critical thinking, and a strong understanding of radiology.

Additionally, certifications such as Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) or Certified Medical Imaging Supervisor (CMIS) are beneficial. A person might also need to have a degree in radiology, health administration, or a similar field. It's also common for a Director of Imaging to have at least several years of experience in the radiology field. Prior roles might include Radiologic Technologist, Radiology Supervisor, or Radiology Manager. These roles offer valuable hands-on experience and provide opportunities to develop leadership skills.
