Nuclear Medicine Technician Jobs in California
A Nuclear Medicine Technician plays a vital role in the radiology field, applying their specialized skills in using radioactive drugs and scanning equipment to create images of the internal body structures. These images are used by physicians to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. They ensure the correct amount of radiation is used, monitor patient reactions during procedures, and provide critical data for interpretation by a physician. To effectively perform these duties, strong technical skills in operation of medical imaging equipment are required, along with meticulous attention to detail, excellent patient care abilities, and good communication skills.

To become a Nuclear Medicine Technician, individuals typically need to complete an accredited nuclear medicine technology program, and pass a certification exam.
