A Radiation Oncologist is a specialist in the radiology field who uses radiation therapy to treat diseases, primarily cancer. Prior to becoming a Radiation Oncologist, a person may have roles as a Medical Student, Medical Intern, or a Resident in Radiation Oncology or related disciplines, which provides the hands-on training and experience necessary to be competent in this highly specialized field.
