Job Summary and QualificationsThe Radiologic Technologist must:
- Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in Radiologic positioning and exposure techniques.
- Maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.
Radiologic Technologists prepare for and assist the physician in the completion of intricate Radiologic examinations. They prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with state, federal, and hospital regulations. Radiologic Technologists are the primary liaison between patients and departmental physicians and other members of the support team. They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills.
What you will do in this role:
- You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.
- You will assess patients/families' ability to learn and incorporate teaching.
- You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
- You will demonstrate knowledge of equipment and procedures for the radiological department.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited education program in Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT R.T. (R) (denotes successful completion of the ARRT certification examination) or registry eligible.
- Must be registry eligible and obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date; if not obtained, termination will occur.
- 1 year post-graduate experience strongly preferred but new grads will be conisdered.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Ability to work on a PRN or as needed basis.
