CT Technologist Jobs in Tyler, TX

A CT Technologist, or Computed Tomography Technologist, plays a crucial role in the radiology field, responsible for operating computerized tomographic equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bodies. These images are then used by physicians to diagnose medical conditions and guide treatment plans. CT Technologists maintain the equipment, prepare patients for the procedure, position the patient and guide them through the process, and administer contrast media as needed.

Important skills for a CT Technologist include communication, attention to detail, and technical proficiency. They should have a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. They must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and should also have certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Prior to becoming a CT Technologist, individuals may have roles as Radiologic Technologists, X-Ray Technicians, or Medical Imaging Assistants.
