Radiologic Technologist Jobs in Bozeman, MT
A Radiologic Technologist, also known as Radiographer, plays a pivotal role in the radiology field by performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients. Their role involves using imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, computer tomography (CT) scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to create images that help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Besides, they're responsible for preparing patients for procedures, positioning patients and equipment correctly, and maintaining and operating the machines safely and effectively. They must also have exceptional patient care skills, as they often work with people in pain or discomfort.
To become a Radiologic Technologist, a person must hold a minimum of an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology and a valid certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). This profession also requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior to becoming a Radiologic Technologist, a person may have roles such as a Radiologic Technician or X-ray Technician, which provide valuable experience in handling imaging equipment and patient care. Some may start as a Medical Assistant or a Certified Nursing Assistant to gain an initial understanding of the healthcare environment.
